Student answer (Band 5.0)
people have differetnt view about wheather working long hours or leaving very little time for leisure activities is the better appraocah while both perspectives have their own merits.I believe that explain the benifit or conclusion of this view.
on the on hand some people believe that working long hours its hard working, get more expirence and knowledge, and recieved extra pay for long hours work. The main reason for this is that explain the argument supporting this view for example, continue long hours working and long standing, and get extra pay, and overtime, hard working, recieved apprecation from manager,so they have dont get enough time for leisure activities,i am also nurse as per shifting duties morning, evening or night as nurse bedside working , long hours, i have not enough energy ot r the time when iam free from work, or y duties and can,t rest or relax or enjoy my personal hobbbies.
On the other hand other believe that if they leaving leisure actvities, and continue long hours work, this is good for our life,as a result we are not social life, we always getting bored, and over thinking, frustrated, and not enjoy our life always first prioity our work not outdoor activities.
My opnion life is so beautiful, many people only work long hours not enjoy life, so this is stressful life, and they will only survive. as per my advice both situation is necassary, hard work , long hours , full advantage , full or extra salry, promotion, apprecation, award..and if only continue if you get lttle time for lesiure activities so wastage of time , money, expirence not get, knowledge , not worthed. As iam suggest both thing happen in life important work with together leisure activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the topic and include a personal example from your work as a nurse, explaining that shift work leaves you without enough energy or time for hobbies. You also mention possible benefits of long hours, such as extra pay, experience and promotion. However, the response does not consistently answer the central question of whether the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. Your position shifts: you describe long hours as stressful, but later say both work and leisure are important without clearly comparing their overall effects. Several points, including the claims about social isolation and “wastage” from leisure, are unclear or insufficiently explained. State your judgement directly and develop two or three relevant reasons with clear examples to support it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an identifiable paragraph structure, and phrases such as “on the other hand” signal a change in viewpoint. The nursing example also gives one paragraph a personal focus. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the first paragraph does not establish a clear position, and the final paragraph introduces several competing conclusions. Some linking phrases are used inaccurately or mechanically: “on the on hand” is repeated, while “as a result” does not clearly connect the preceding idea to its consequence. Ideas within paragraphs are often joined in long strings, making relationships between benefits, drawbacks and examples unclear. Organise the essay around a clear position, use one main idea per paragraph, and connect each example explicitly to that idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “overtime,” “promotion,” “frustrated,” “personal hobbies” and “social life.” These choices show an effort to discuss both financial and personal effects. However, the range is limited and many words or phrases are repeated, particularly “long hours,” “work” and “leisure activities.” Frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word forms—such as “differetnt,” “appraocah,” “benifit” and “apprecation”—make the writing harder to understand. Some combinations are also unnatural, for example “hard working” where you mean the benefit of working hard, and “full advantage.” Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocation; this will make your ideas clearer and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to use both simple statements and longer sentences, including a contrast between the two viewpoints and a personal example. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts at longer sentences are often faulty. For instance, “some people believe that working long hours its hard working” lacks a workable clause structure, while “if they leaving leisure activities” has an incorrect verb form. Errors with subjects and verbs, articles, and sentence boundaries occur throughout, as in “many people only work long hours not enjoy life.” Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, which makes some sentences difficult to follow. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then combine ideas using accurate clauses such as “Although…, …” or “This means that…”.
