Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this busy life there is everyone busy to earn money we can understand money is important . but health is also important. day by day everything is going up i mean our living cost is going high from some previous time. some peolples are giving more prefrance to money beacuase of thet they have to work more. and some they are giving periority to leisure activity and speaning time with family and friends. in both situation they have the advantage and disadvanges

if any one doing more and more work or giving extra time for job then they will miss lots of moments of life.first of all, he will loose his health because of extra work he cant give time for food. secondly, more burden or pressure from seniors. if there is standing job then it will effect the legs because of long hours legs blood serculation will be stop and it will cause of veins problem.theire is no social life.

if they will do more hours workd firts of all they will earn more money. that money will make their life easy and give more luxurious life style. more hour speanding on work can save money because most of ther time to the person have to stay at work there is no time for speanding the money. secondly body will be active beacuse of long hour work.

from my opinon, more working if anybody to have to do its depands on situation because if they need money then they have to work otherwise no need to do

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both sides of working long hours, mentioning higher earnings and a more comfortable lifestyle as benefits, and health problems and reduced social life as drawbacks. However, the task asks you to decide whether the advantages or disadvantages are greater, and your conclusion says this depends on the situation rather than giving a clear overall judgement. Several points are also asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that long hours keep the body active is not supported, while the health effects would benefit from a clearer explanation or example. To strengthen the response, state your position directly in the introduction and conclusion, then develop a few relevant reasons with specific supporting details.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: the response begins with general context, gives a paragraph about disadvantages, then one about advantages, and ends with a personal view. This makes the main topics identifiable. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and the opening does not clearly introduce the essay’s position. Linking phrases such as “first of all,” “secondly,” and “from my opinion” are used, but connections between claims are sometimes abrupt; the discussion of leg problems, for instance, moves quickly to social life without showing how the points relate. Use clearer topic sentences and arrange each paragraph around one main argument, followed by explanation and an example. A direct concluding judgement would also make the overall structure more complete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “living cost,” “leisure activity,” “pressure,” “social life,” and “luxurious life style.” This gives you a basic range for discussing work and its effects. However, vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise, and frequent spelling and word-form errors make parts of the response difficult to read, such as “prefrance,” “speaning,” and “serculation.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “more burden” and “body will be active” in this context. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions for income, wellbeing, and work-life balance would help you explain your ideas clearly without repeating general words such as “more” and “work.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas and produce some longer sentences, but the range of sentence structures is limited and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently, as in “if any one doing more and more work” and “if they will do more hours workd.” The opening also contains several clauses joined without clear punctuation, which makes the meaning harder to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses using patterns such as “Although long hours can increase income, they may harm health.” Check that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
