Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explain your suitability by highlighting your native language skills, suggest additional help such as childcare and meal preparation, and state your motivation for applying. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a family. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. To reach a higher band, you could expand on your teaching methodology or provide more specific examples of your experience with children. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the requirements of the task are fully met.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'As this is', which assist in connecting ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by short, simple sentences, and some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The use of 'And' at the beginning of a sentence is informal and could be improved by using more sophisticated linking words. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the paragraphing is sufficient for this task type.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'native language', 'tuition fees', and 'application'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'expensive' (should be 'expenses') and 'busy in their work' (should be 'busy with their work'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and relies on basic descriptors. To improve, try to incorporate more precise adjectives and varied verbs to describe your skills and intentions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'i am speaking this language since my childhood' (should be 'I have been speaking...'), 'a international student' (should be 'an international student'), and 'looking forward to hear' (should be 'looking forward to hearing'). Additionally, there are consistent issues with capitalization of the pronoun 'I'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on verb tenses and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
