Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: your suitability, additional help, and reasons for applying. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention being a 'gold medalist,' the explanation of how you would teach the children is vague and grammatically unclear. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, but the content lacks the depth required for a higher band. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded with specific, clear examples rather than general statements. You successfully met the requirement to write to the couple, but the overall message could be more persuasive and detailed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Then' to link ideas. However, the progression between sentences is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from teaching language to teaching 'emotion' and 'behaviour' is abrupt and confusing. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'those types of leassion'. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words would help the ideas connect more naturally and logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points. You use some relevant terms like 'advertisment', 'tutor', and 'passionate'. However, there are several instances of word choice errors or awkward phrasing, such as 'I will learning emotion' instead of 'I will teach emotional intelligence' and 'leassion' (spelling error for 'lessons'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic structures. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms related to your profession.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

There is a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You have frequent errors in verb tense and subject-verb agreement, such as 'You lived in Australia for some years ago' (should be 'You have lived') and 'I will able to do' (should be 'I will be able to'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the letter. Focusing on basic sentence construction and verb tense consistency will significantly improve your score.
