Dear Mathew,

Hope this letter finds you well. I saw your advertisement that you are looking for someone who can teach Hindi to your children. I think I am a suitable candidate for this job.I did masters in this language proficiency. Moreover, Hindi is my mother tongue; I am bilingual, I have good command on English. Therefore, it is beneficial for you and your children as well. In this manner I can also understand what your children want to say.

Furthermore, I can also helps you in other household chores, for instance, doing cleaning, picking up children from school, buying groceries, and taking care of elders. When children are alone at home, I can also do baby sitting for them, if needed.

I am an international student, it is arduous for me to manage my expenditure. However, I believe that with this job I can able to earn some part-time earning which helps me in paying my regular expenses and bills.

You can call me, if you consider my application for this position. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explain your suitability by mentioning your Master's degree and bilingual status. You also provide relevant examples of additional help, such as cleaning and babysitting, and explain your motivation for the job, which is to manage your expenses as an international student. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a potential employer. The ideas are relevant and sufficiently developed to meet the requirements of the task. To improve, ensure that the connection between your language skills and the children's needs is slightly more explicit to fully demonstrate your value as a tutor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your points easily. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Therefore' to link your ideas. However, the transition between the second and third paragraph is a bit abrupt. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the progression between paragraphs feels more natural and less mechanical.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task. Phrases like 'language proficiency', 'arduous', and 'regular expenses' are used correctly. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'I can also helps you' (should be 'help') and 'I can able to earn' (should be 'I will be able to earn'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over verb forms and modal structures. Expanding your vocabulary to include more specific professional terms would enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'I did masters' should be 'I completed a Master's degree', and 'I have good command on English' should be 'I have a good command of English'. Additionally, there is a comma splice in 'I am an international student, it is arduous for me'. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you achieve a higher band score.
