Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt effectively. You explained your suitability by highlighting your experience as an early childhood educator and your native language skills. You also successfully identified additional services, such as cooking and homework assistance, and provided clear reasons for wanting the job, specifically your need for a flexible schedule and your genuine interest in working with children. The tone is appropriate for a letter of application, and the purpose is clear throughout. To reach a higher band, ensure that you provide slightly more depth in your explanations, such as elaborating on how your specific teaching 'tricks' have helped children in the past.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a formal closing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your ideas easily. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover', 'Apart from this', and 'Further', to link your sentences. However, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the transition between your academic background and your practical experience is smoother. Overall, the structure is clear and serves the purpose of the letter well.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'scrumptious', 'hands-on experience', and 'early childhood educator'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I have gifted hand in cooking' (should be 'I have a gift for cooking') and 'obessed' (spelling error). While you attempt to use more sophisticated language, some phrases feel slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your spelling is accurate, as these small slips prevent the vocabulary from being considered 'wide' or 'flexible' in a more advanced sense.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, including punctuation issues (e.g., 'i' should be capitalized, 'wednesday' should be 'Wednesday'), and minor errors in article usage and verb agreement (e.g., 'a hands on experience' should be 'hands-on experience'). You also have some run-on sentences and minor tense inconsistencies. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic capitalization and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
