Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt effectively. You clearly explained your suitability by highlighting your academic background and teaching experience. You also provided a list of additional services you could offer, such as household maintenance and childcare, and clearly articulated your motivations for wanting the job, specifically your desire to settle in Australia and immerse yourself in the culture. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter of application. To reach a higher band, ensure that your reasons for wanting the job are more focused on the needs of the family rather than just your personal goals, which would make the letter more persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your ideas easily. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Apart from teaching' and 'Also', though the transition between ideas could be smoother. For example, the jump from household chores to electrical work is a bit abrupt. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would improve the flow and help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'qualified', 'literature', 'immersion', and 'opportunity'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'doing a research work' (should be 'conducting research') and 'taking tuition' (should be 'providing tutoring'). Additionally, there are minor errors in capitalization, such as 'malayalam' and 'australia', which should always be capitalized. To improve, focus on using more precise academic and professional collocations and ensure consistent attention to proper nouns and standard spelling conventions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'As this your mother tongue' (missing verb), 'I doing a research' (missing auxiliary verb), and 'that would be benefit me' (should be 'would benefit me'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs in continuous tenses. Proofreading for these small slips before finishing would be highly beneficial.
