Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt: explaining suitability, offering additional help, and stating reasons for wanting the job. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, the explanation of your teaching experience is brief, and the mention of 'various spices level' is slightly vague. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your teaching methodology or specific qualifications. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening 'Dear Sir/Madam' is less ideal than a more personalised greeting if the advertisement provided a name, though it is acceptable here as a generic placeholder.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Apart from that', and 'As I am'. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. For example, the transition between your availability and your motivation for the job could be smoother. Additionally, the paragraphing is a bit sparse; separating the introduction, body points, and closing more clearly would improve the overall structure. The use of referencing is generally clear, but ensure that your cohesive devices are used to connect ideas more fluidly rather than just acting as list markers.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'multilingual', 'candidate', and 'hesitate'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'children weakness' (should be 'children's weaknesses') and 'various spices level' (should be 'a variety of spice levels'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that your vocabulary is sophisticated enough to convey your points with greater clarity and professional tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Common issues include the lack of capitalisation for 'I', subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'that helps me to better understand your children weakness'), and tense inconsistencies (e.g., 'finds a job that assist me'). While these errors rarely impede the overall meaning of your letter, they are persistent throughout the text. To achieve a higher score, you need to pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, such as pluralisation, possessives, and consistent verb forms, and aim for more error-free sentences.
