Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining your suitability, offering additional help, and stating your reasons for wanting the job. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention your teaching experience and degree, you could have elaborated more on your specific teaching methods or how you would engage the children. Similarly, the reasons for wanting the job are quite brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that your ideas are fully extended with more descriptive detail rather than just stating facts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter follows a logical structure with clear paragraphing, which helps the reader follow your points. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions between ideas. However, some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical. Additionally, there are some minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the abrupt transition in the third paragraph regarding the childcare duties. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'advertisement', 'tutor', 'distinction', and 'domain'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'interest to teach' (should be 'interest in teaching') and 'child care person' (should be 'childcare provider' or 'nanny'). There are also some repetitive errors, such as the inconsistent capitalization of 'English' and 'English language'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure consistent attention to standard capitalization rules for proper nouns.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'I have been teaching english to many child' (should be 'children'), 'in subject of English' (should be 'in the subject of English'), and 'I have 3 child and I have seen them grew' (should be 'children' and 'seen them grow'). While these errors do not prevent the message from being understood, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Focus on subject-verb agreement, pluralization, and correct verb tense usage to improve your accuracy.
