Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have addressed the core purpose of the letter, the content is underdeveloped. You mention your suitability and offer a trial, but you fail to address the requirement to 'say what else you could do for the family' (e.g., household help, childcare, or cultural activities) and provide only a very brief mention of your reasons for wanting the job. To improve, ensure you expand on each bullet point with specific details to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks a clear paragraph structure, appearing as one long block of text. While there is a basic attempt to connect ideas using words like 'moreover' and 'furthermore', the flow is hindered by the lack of proper sentence boundaries and paragraphing. The punctuation is inconsistent, with many run-on sentences that make the text difficult to follow. To improve, you should organize your letter into distinct paragraphs: one for the introduction, one for each bullet point, and a concluding paragraph. Using clear topic sentences will help the reader follow your ideas more logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You use 'teach' and 'Gujarati' multiple times without variation. There are also errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'advertisment' (advertisement) and 'childrens' (children). The range of vocabulary is limited, which prevents you from expressing your suitability or motivations in a professional manner. To improve, try to incorporate more descriptive language and professional terminology related to teaching or childcare. Ensure you check your spelling, especially for key terms related to the task.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding sentence structure and punctuation. Many sentences are run-on, lacking necessary full stops or commas, such as '...Gujarati language. and that is why...'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and capitalization (e.g., 'gujrati' should be 'Gujarati'). The range of structures is limited to simple sentences, with few attempts at complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on using full stops to separate independent clauses and ensure that you proofread for basic errors like capitalization and pluralization.
