Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You explain your suitability through your teaching experience, offer additional help with cultural activities, and state your reasons for wanting the job. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, while you mention your experience, providing a specific example of a teaching success would have strengthened your application. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the opening 'Dear Madam' is slightly generic given the prompt specifies a 'couple'. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the content could be more detailed to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition to', 'Further', and 'Hence' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by slightly mechanical transitions or awkward phrasing, such as 'I feel positivity while contributing to their growth'. The referencing is generally clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that sentences within paragraphs flow more naturally into one another.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contribution', 'significance', and 'consideration'. However, there are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'masters degree in BA' (which is redundant) and 'show them festival are celebrate' (which should be 'how festivals are celebrated'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that your word forms are accurate in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'I have been over 3 year od experience' (should be 'I have over three years of experience') and 'I will the right person' (missing 'be'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor slips throughout. The errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. Increasing your control over basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement will help improve your score in this area.
