Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining your suitability, offering additional help, and stating your reasons for wanting the job. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the opening 'Dear sir' is slightly generic given the prompt mentions a 'couple'. The ideas are relevant, though the explanation of why you want the job is somewhat brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that your reasons are more explicitly linked to your personal or professional goals. Overall, the task requirements are met clearly and the purpose of the letter is immediately apparent to the reader.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into three distinct paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points easily. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Apart from this', and 'Finally' (implied). However, the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words. For example, the transition between your teaching experience and your current situation in Australia is a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is clear throughout the response, which meets the requirements for a solid band 6 or 7.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'toddlers', 'completion of my studies', and 'folk dance'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'done master’s' (should be 'completed a master’s degree') and 'at a same university' (should be 'at the same university'). The vocabulary is functional and allows you to convey your message clearly, but it lacks the more sophisticated or precise lexical items that would characterize a higher band score. Focus on using more natural collocations and formal phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'I saw an advertisement that you have posted' (should be 'that you posted'), 'could fits me' (should be 'could fit me'), and 'at the same mail' (should be 'via the same email'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are some issues with comma splices and capitalization. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing your control over verb tenses and subject-verb agreement will improve your accuracy.
