Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You explained your suitability by highlighting your teaching experience and qualifications, mentioned your ability to teach Math and English, and provided a clear reason for wanting the job. However, the tone is slightly inconsistent for a formal letter, and the explanation for wanting the job is a bit informal ('I hope you guys do have a look'). To reach a higher band, ensure the tone remains professional throughout and expand slightly more on how your skills would specifically benefit the children's development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to link your ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes a bit mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as in the sentence 'I am also lookin for a part time for as my family will be visiting me'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'advertisement', 'literature graduate', and 'professional educator'. However, there are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'in regards of' (should be 'in regard to'), 'requirement of' (should be 'the requirement for'), and 'this would beneficial for you children' (should be 'this would be beneficial for your children'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated collocations would improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('in next month'), incorrect verb forms ('I am also lookin'), and punctuation issues. For example, 'I hope you guys do have a look to my request and take in to consideration' contains awkward phrasing and missing objects. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your accuracy.
