Student answer (Band 7.5)

Dear Mr and Mrs Smith,

I am writing in response to your advertisement seeking someone to teach your language to your two children for a year. I believe I would be an ideal candidate for this position because I am a patient, responsible and enthusiastic person with a strong command of my native language. I also enjoy working with children and can make lessons engaging through games, stories and everyday conversations rather than relying solely on textbooks.

In addition to teaching your children, I would be happy to assist your family in other ways. For example, I could prepare traditional meals, help the children with their homework, accompany them to local activities and introduce them to aspects of my culture, including traditional festivals, music and food. I would also be willing to help with light household tasks when required.

I am particularly interested in this opportunity because living with an Australian family would allow me to experience Australian culture and improve my understanding of everyday life there. At the same time, I would have the rewarding opportunity to share my language and culture with your children. I believe this would be a mutually beneficial experience, and I would be fully committed to making the year enjoyable and educational for the whole family.

I would be delighted to discuss my experience and suitability for the position in greater detail. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Ramanpreet Kaur
