Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: suitability, additional help, and reasons for applying. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention your experience, you do not elaborate on your teaching methodology or specific qualifications beyond a diploma. The tone is inconsistent; starting with 'Dear Sir or Madam' is formal, but the body uses informal phrases like 'you guys' and 'look your children after', which are inappropriate for a professional job application. To reach a higher band, ensure the tone remains consistently formal and provide more specific details regarding your teaching experience to better persuade the reader.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. Transitions between ideas are often abrupt, such as the jump from teaching experience to living expenses. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the sentence 'I can also look your children after you guys', where the phrasing is awkward and hinders the flow of information. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to') would help create a smoother progression of ideas throughout the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a formal application. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'tech' instead of 'teach', 'shear' instead of 'share', and 'conserdration' instead of 'consideration'. The use of informal colloquialisms like 'you guys' is inappropriate for this context. While you attempt to use some relevant terminology like 'diploma' and 'multi language subject', the overall range is limited, and spelling errors occur frequently enough to occasionally distract the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Examples include 'I was teacher before', 'I thought many students', and 'I can also look your children after you guys'. These errors, particularly with verb tense and preposition usage, are noticeable. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these slips prevents the text from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct prepositional phrases will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
