Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear couple,
I am writing to inform you that I am most suitable person for teaching my language to your two children for up to next 12 months.
I hope you are doing well in current time. Here, I want to inform you that I am living in Australia since last two years and recently I have completed my study, so currently I am looking for a job, which is perfectly suitable with your job advertisement posted in news as I am an proficient in the specific language, which you want to teach your both children.
However, I would not only teach my Language your children but also I am a housekeeping person, so I would try to make food by being cook for your whole family, I would clean your whole house by doing mop and broom as I have previous experienced in these works, which help me to get an ultimately job at your house.
I would have given such reasons above, why am I being perfect person to choose to you because I am multitasker and I would request you genuinely to give me a tutor, cook and cleaner positions at your home for next 1 year.
Your regards,
Smit.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: suitability, additional help, and reasons for wanting the job. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat basic. While you mention being a 'multitasker,' the explanation of why you are suitable is quite repetitive and lacks specific detail regarding your teaching experience or methodology. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the opening 'Dear couple' is slightly unnatural; 'Dear Sir or Madam' or 'Dear Mr and Mrs [Name]' would be more standard. The response covers the requirements, but the ideas could be expanded with more professional detail to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward. For example, the transition 'However, I would not only teach...' does not logically contrast with the previous paragraph. Additionally, the phrase 'I would have given such reasons above' is a clunky way to refer back to your points. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the connection between sentences could be smoother and more varied to improve the flow of the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'housekeeping person,' 'make food by being cook,' and 'doing mop and broom' are unnatural and lack the precision expected at higher levels. There is an attempt to use some relevant vocabulary, such as 'multitasker' and 'advertisement,' but the overall lexical control is basic. To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding wordy, descriptive phrases that do not sound like standard English usage in a professional context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently struggle with articles ('the' or 'a') and prepositions, such as 'in current time' instead of 'at the moment' and 'living in Australia since last two years' instead of 'for the last two years.' There are also issues with verb forms, such as 'I am an proficient' and 'I have previous experienced.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to distract the reader and indicate a need for more careful proofreading of basic grammatical rules.
