Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: suitability, additional help, and reasons for wanting the job. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of suitability relies on general claims rather than specific teaching methodologies. The section on 'what else you could do for the family' is missing entirely, as the text focuses only on the teaching aspect. The tone is also slightly informal and aggressive ('I am not telling you that I am perfect... I am the best'), which is not ideal for a formal job application letter. To improve, ensure each bullet point is fully expanded with relevant details and maintain a professional, polite tone throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks clear paragraphing, which makes the flow of ideas difficult to follow. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas logically. For example, the transition between the introduction and the discussion of the children's learning needs is abrupt. The use of punctuation is also inconsistent, with many run-on sentences and a lack of capital letters at the start of sentences (e.g., 'i have seen', 'i am reaching out'). To improve, use clear paragraph breaks for each main point and incorporate linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to guide the reader through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'expertise's' (should be 'expertise'), 'better fits' (should be 'a better fit'), and 'defenativle' (spelling error). The phrasing is often unnatural, such as 'what I bring to table'. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range of vocabulary and the frequent errors in word formation prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on learning common collocations for professional correspondence and proofreading for spelling and word-form accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the readability of the text. There are consistent issues with capitalization, subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'one can learn quickly other gets some times'), and sentence structure. The text consists mostly of simple sentences with some awkward phrasing. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and punctuation is largely absent, which makes the text feel like a stream of consciousness. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensure proper capitalization, and practice using conjunctions to combine simple ideas into more complex, accurate sentences.
