Dear Nidhi,
I am writing this letter to express my interest in your advertisement regarding tutor that you are looking for your children.
I believe, I am highly suitable person for this position due to my excellent background. I hold the degree of B.ED which I completed from University of Manitoba. In addition to that, I have hands on experience in teaching since 2 years and my teaching method involves play based learning which keeps children engage while building their vocabulary and confidence in the English language.
Moreover, I could assist you in cooking healthy foods which are tasty and include modern authentic dishes for your kids, eventually it will keeps your children not only fit but also makes their immunity strong. Also, I am interested in this job since I got new apartment nearby your house. Thus, it will be very easy for me to come at your place for providing language lessons.
I look forward for your response.
Kind regards,
Krisha

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explain your suitability by highlighting your B.Ed degree and teaching experience. You also offer additional help by mentioning your ability to cook healthy meals and provide a logical reason for wanting the job based on your proximity to their home. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a potential employer. To improve, ensure that you fully develop your ideas; for example, you could elaborate slightly more on how your 'play-based learning' specifically benefits children to make your application even more persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. You use transition words such as 'In addition to that,' 'Moreover,' and 'Thus' to connect your ideas. While the flow is generally good, some of the transitions feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, the paragraphing is appropriate for a letter format. To reach a higher band, focus on varying your cohesive devices and ensuring that the progression between sentences feels more natural rather than relying on standard linking phrases at the start of every paragraph.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'advertisement,' 'position,' and 'authentic.' However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'hands on experience in teaching since 2 years' (should be 'for 2 years') and 'keeps children engage' (should be 'engaged'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and common collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated descriptors would enhance your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'tutor that you are looking for' (missing 'a' and 'the'), 'I am highly suitable person' (missing 'a'), and 'eventually it will keeps' (should be 'keep'). These errors are frequent but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the use of articles. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while ensuring they remain error-free will help you achieve a higher band score.
