You have seen an advertisement from a couple, who live in Australia, for someone to teach their two children your language for a year. Write a letter to the couple. In your letter

• explain why you think you would be suitable for the job
• say what else you could do for the family
• give your reasons for wanting the job

Dear Mr shah,

I read an advertisement in local newspaper as you are looking for a Gujarati language teacher for your children. I grew up in traditional Gujarati extended family surrounded by grandparents, learnt language from childhood alongside the culture and traditions. Additionally, I studied elementary and high school in the Gujarati language.

If I get hired I will not only teach the language but also support with school projects and assignments. I would love to introduce the history of the language as well as festivals, traditions and storytelling of writers and poets. However, this will not be beneficial for their schooling but learning about culture will ease to learn language alongside connects with the roots.

This opportunity will help me to support my tuition fees expense. As going into University will require an accommodation which will be an additional expense that needs to be anticipated. Although, I am working as translator is not enough for it.

I will appreciate consideration for the opportunity.
