Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: suitability, additional help, and reasons for wanting the job. However, the tone is inconsistent and the structure is somewhat disorganized. You ask questions about the job (e.g., 'Which language you want someone to teach') that should have been clear from the advertisement, which makes the letter feel slightly confused. While you mention your teaching experience and childcare course, the development of these points is limited. To reach a higher band, ensure your tone is consistently professional and that you provide more cohesive, well-developed explanations for your suitability and motivations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often disjointed. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'In addition' and 'Apart from this,' but the logical progression is hindered by the inclusion of irrelevant personal details, such as your current living situation and your part-time job. The paragraphing is present but does not effectively group related ideas together. To improve, focus on ensuring that each paragraph has a clear purpose and that sentences follow a logical sequence that directly relates to the requirements of the task.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'quires' instead of 'queries,' 'day c are course' (spelling), and 'pic up' (spelling). You rely on simple, repetitive language. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to teaching and professional communication. For example, instead of saying 'I have an 4 year teaching experience at my back home,' use more formal phrasing like 'I possess four years of teaching experience in my home country.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter, including issues with verb tense, word order, and sentence structure. Examples include 'I have been move here before 2 month ago' (incorrect tense and word order), 'which near to my home' (missing verb), and 'tell your the location' (incorrect pronoun). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing and capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction limits the score. Focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage to improve accuracy.
