You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear .................. ,

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir,

I am reaching out to seek further clarification regarding the language teaching job. Having recently encountered your advertisement on Facebook, I would appreciate the opportunity to work.

To provide some context, I have 4 years of experience in teaching multiple languages. My qualifications include a bachelor's degree in English and French. In addition to it, my experience in this field aligns perfectly with the requirements.

Being a professional in this role, I assure you that your kids would become extremely fluent in these languages within one year. Moreover, I would be available even after the course completion if your kids need my assistance, and I won't charge for that.

As I am currently employed with Algoma University, unfortunately, due to government policies, there is a big cap on international students, which is resulting in layoffs. To keep myself working, I would like to get this job.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Vishal.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all three bullet points required by the task. First, you explain why you are suitable by mentioning your four years of experience and your degree in English and French. Second, you state what else you could do by offering free post-course assistance if the children need help. Third, you give your reasons for wanting the job by explaining your current employment situation at Algoma University and the impact of government policies on international student caps. However, the tone and opening salutation contain a noticeable mismatch; the prompt asks you to write to a couple ("Dear .................."), but you addressed your letter as "Dear Sir," which is slightly inappropriate for replying to a private couple's advertisement. Nevertheless, all content requirements are addressed adequately and extended with relevant details.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter maintains a clear overall logical organization and progression throughout. Ideas are grouped into sensible paragraphs, transitioning from your suitability in the second paragraph, to additional help in the third paragraph, and finally your motivation in the fourth paragraph. Cohesive devices are used appropriately, such as "To provide some context," "Moreover," and "As I am currently employed." Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct topics. However, referencing and transitional flow could be slightly more sophisticated to reach higher bands. For instance, the transition into the reason for wanting the job is a bit abrupt, though the logical progression remains clear and easy to follow from start to finish.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The text demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, with successful attempts at less common phrasing such as "clarification regarding the language teaching job," "aligns perfectly with the requirements," and "government policies." Word choices are generally appropriate and do not impede communication. There are minor limitations in lexical precision and natural collocation; for example, "reach out to seek further clarification" is slightly formal and formulaic given that you are replying to a personal advertisement, and "a big cap" is somewhat informal. Overall, the vocabulary used is sufficient to convey your points clearly and effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0

You demonstrate a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional-like clauses and participial phrases, such as "Having recently encountered your advertisement..." and "As I am currently employed with Algoma University, unfortunately, due to government policies, there is a big cap..." Grammatical control is generally quite good, with many error-free sentences. The errors present are minor and do not impede communication at all. Punctuation is used correctly throughout, and verb tenses are handled accurately when discussing past experience and current circumstances. Your control over sentence structures supports clear and fluent reading.
