Dear .................. ,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Radha and family,
I am writing this letter to discuss an opportunity to educate our native language to your kids. I recently came to know that you are looking for a ''Gujarati'' teaching mentor for your children.
I am currently working at school and I have 15 years of experience in teaching our mother language. Moreover, I am also a member of an International communication group. Basically the motive of our organization is to keep children connected to their roots and culture.
I could arrange an meeting online to discuss more regarding the same. If you give me an opportunity, I would be pleased to inform that I could make your family a member of my organization and you could get several advantages by participating at our kids annual celebrations, fun fair, magic shows, multicultural exhibitions and much more fun activities.
I do not have much students for this year, that would be a great help if you could assign me for your children.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully
Anjali Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all three bullet points required by the task prompt. You successfully explain your suitability for the job by mentioning your 15 years of teaching experience and involvement in an international communication group. You also mention what else you could do for the family, such as introducing them to organizational activities like annual celebrations, fun fairs, and multicultural exhibitions, and offering to arrange an online meeting. Finally, you state your reason for wanting the job, noting that you currently have a low number of students this year. The tone of the letter is generally appropriate for communicating with a family. All parts of the prompt are addressed, resulting in a solid performance for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall arrangement and is divided into logical paragraphs that handle different parts of the task. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'Moreover' and 'Basically', although some transitional phrases feel slightly mechanical or are used a bit awkwardly in context. Referencing is generally clear, and the letter opens and closes with appropriate salutations and sign-offs ('Dear Radha and family', 'Yours faithfully'). Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the information, ensuring the reader can easily follow your message from the introduction to the conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases like 'international communication group' and 'multicultural exhibitions'. However, there are some noticeable word choice and collocation errors that prevent a higher score. For example, writing 'educate our native language' is unnatural; the correct collocation is 'teach our native language'. Similarly, 'much students' should be 'many students', and 'assign me for your children' is imprecise. Despite these lexical slips, communication is never impeded, and your meaning remains clear throughout the letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating control over standard structures. Sentences such as 'If you give me an opportunity, I would be pleased to inform that I could make your family a member of my organization' show a good attempt at conditional and complex clauses. However, there are some grammatical errors and awkward prepositions, such as 'participating at our kids annual celebrations' (instead of 'participating in') and 'discuss more regarding the same'. Punctuation is generally fine, and these errors do not impede communication, placing the response comfortably within the Band 6 range.
