Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You have covered all three bullet points required in the task instructions. You explained your suitability by mentioning your seven years of experience as a professional tutor and your native fluency in Punjabi. You also mentioned what else you could do by offering to take care of the children on weekends. Additionally, you provided clear reasons for wanting the job, stating that you are looking for a suitable part-time position after finishing your studies. The tone is appropriate for a letter to parents, and the purpose of the communication is clear throughout. Although the development of ideas is somewhat straightforward, all parts of the prompt are adequately addressed, earning a solid Band 6.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter follows a clear, logical structure with an appropriate opening and closing. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct ideas, such as your tutoring background in the second paragraph and your reasons for applying in the third paragraph. Cohesive devices are employed to connect sentences, such as 'Moreover' and 'In addition'. However, referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as 'I am writing to discuss about the advertisement', where the transition is a bit mechanical. Overall arrangement is coherent and easy to follow, supporting a clear progression of ideas from your introduction to your conclusion, which fits the descriptor for Band 6.5.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

Your vocabulary range is adequate for the task. You successfully use relevant terms related to teaching and employment, such as 'professional tutor', 'native language', and 'part-time job'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and phrasing, such as writing 'discuss about' (instead of just 'discuss') and 'i saw' (with a lowercase 'i'). You also repeat certain words like 'teach' and 'children' frequently. While you attempt some less common vocabulary, the occasional errors and repetitive lexical choices prevent a higher score, placing your performance firmly in the Band 6 category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'While reading online newspaper I noticed your advertisement that you need a good mentor...' and 'As your family also belongs to Punjab, so I can give assist your children...'. There are several grammatical errors and awkward structures throughout the text, including missing articles ('online newspaper', 'part time job'), incorrect verb forms ('have done my studies' instead of 'completed my studies'), and redundant conjunctions ('As your family... so I can...'). Despite these errors, communication is not impeded, and the majority of your sentences remain understandable, reflecting the characteristics of a Band 6.0.
