Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the main purpose of the letter, but only partially covers the requirements set out in the prompt. While you mention your suitability as a Punjabi teacher with many years of experience, other parts of the task are handled in a very limited and under-developed way. For instance, when explaining what else you could do for the family, you briefly mention transportation, but the ideas lack clarity and full extension. Furthermore, your stated reason for wanting the job—that you need to fill vacant seats in your institute—does not quite fit naturally with applying to teach a family's children in their home. To move to a higher band, you need to ensure that all bullet points are fully expanded with logical, relevant details that directly address the scenario provided in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation in your letter, as you have attempted to separate your ideas into distinct paragraphs, beginning with an introduction and ending with a formal sign-off. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the text, and the links between your sentences can feel disjointed. Cohesive devices are either inadequate, repetitive, or inaccurate, such as using basic conjunctions or starting sentences abruptly without smooth transitions. Referencing is also not always clear, making it sometimes difficult for the reader to follow the exact sequence of your arguments. To improve, you should focus on using a wider variety of linking words naturally and ensure that your sentences flow logically from one point to the next within well-structured paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is limited but minimally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey basic information about your teaching background. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the response, such as writing 'appartment', 'communitty', 'mohther', 'famliar', 'weakends', 'insitute', 'populer', and 'waiing'. You also rely heavily on simple, repetitive words and make errors in collocation, which causes some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your range of vocabulary by using less common lexical items accurately and paying close attention to correct spelling and word formation in your final review.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Your writing displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex structures that contain major faults. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, tenses, articles, plurals, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns, such as 'im and punjabi teacher', 'giving to the punjabi class for the student', 'help our community', 'Can teach yours two kids', and 'My boss is given the clear instruction'. These frequent errors frequently strain the reader and obscure your intended meaning. To improve this area, you must work on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, using articles correctly, and reducing the frequency of grammar and punctuation mistakes.
