Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response covers all parts of the task, meeting the basic requirements by explaining suitability, offering extra assistance, and providing reasons for wanting the job. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, while the explanation of teaching experience and language certification is clear, the points regarding what else can be done for the family—such as arranging extra-curricular activities and charts—are somewhat limited and lack specific detail. The overall tone attempts a letter format, though the opening greeting 'Dear sir/madam' does not quite match the prompt's instruction to write to a couple, which slightly affects the appropriate register.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
There is a coherent overall arrangement to the letter, with clear paragraph breaks separating the distinct parts of the prompt such as suitability, additional help, and reasons for applying. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Devices like 'while teaching your's children' and 'So i am looking for job' create abrupt transitions rather than smooth progression. Referencing and linking between sentences could be managed more effectively to establish a stronger logical flow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing enough range to communicate basic ideas, but it is limited and marred by noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling. Examples include 'advertisment', 'certiicate', 'curiculum', 'mesmerize', 'wording', 'appricate', and 'sencerely'. These errors require the reader to occasionally pause, though communication is not severely blocked. The writer attempts some less common terms like 'extra curiculum activites', but inaccurate spelling and word forms restrict the score to this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'I think am suitable for this position as i have experience of teaching children for 5 years'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('doing part -time job', 'in university'), incorrect pronoun usage and determiners ('your's children', 'why can mesmerize'), and punctuation issues like spacing around hyphens and commas. These frequent errors in basic structures and punctuation patterns cause some difficulty for the reader without completely distorting the overall meaning.
