Dear sir/madam,

I hope this letter finds you well and you must be having a wonderful day.I am writing this letter regarding the advertisement you have put on instagram. In your advertisement you are in search of the tutor for your chidren to teach them their native language punjabi.

Furthermore, I am very professional in teaching punjabi language especially to the children of very young age.In addition, I also have the two year diploma in Punjabi language from Punjab university Chandigarh. I am currently living in Australia as an international student, so during weekends i will be free .I am also ready to come at your home for this job, by doing this job i can also get some ease in managing my expenses as an international student.

I will be very grateful to you for this favor.

Looking forward to hearing your response by the earliest.

Kind regards,

Gursharan Singh

Coherence and Cohesion5.0
Lexical Resource5.5
Grammatical Range and Accuracy5.5
Overall5.0

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the task only partially. While the writer attempts to cover all bullet points, the development of ideas is limited. For instance, the explanation of suitability focuses mainly on having a diploma, and the reasons for wanting the job are restricted to managing international student expenses. Additionally, the salutation used ("Dear sir/madam,") is inappropriate since the advertisement was placed by a specific couple whose names or identities were known, which impacts the appropriate tone for a personal letter.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation present in the letter, but it lacks a clear overall progression. The writer uses basic cohesive devices such as "Furthermore" and "In addition," but these are repetitive and sometimes mechanically applied. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas could be managed more effectively to create a smoother flow between the reasons for applying, suitability, and additional help offered to the family.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as "international student" and "professional in teaching," but noticeable errors in word choice and spelling occur, such as writing "instagram" with a lowercase letter and using "very young age" where more precise phrasing could be applied. However, these lexical slips do not entirely impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple and moderately complex sentences. There are frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization, and spacing, such as missing spaces after periods (e.g., "day.I am" and "age.In addition"), incorrect article usage, and minor prepositional issues like "come at your home" instead of "come to your home". These frequent errors can cause some distraction for the reader.
