Student answer (Band 5.5)

Dear Alex,

Hope you are doing welll. I am writing to inform that I saw your advertisement in magazine that you are looking a person who teach a native lanaguague for your children.

I believe that I am right fit of that job because I have 4 years of teching experience of lanaguage teacher in my nation. And also I am giving extra classes to students from different countries by online. Overall, teaching is my passion and I am dedicated and compassionate to my job and always work patiently with students and feels them more comfortable.

It hard to do offline classes so I can help you by giving online classes at home and provided material and class link in proper timings. I am available in the weekdays and weekends as well and please tell me what the time is suits for your children so that I can prepare accordingly.

At the moment, I want this job because in the evening I am free so I want to keep me busy and work for some extra income. Moreover, teaching my lanaguage help me to stay connected with my cultural roots.

If you are interested please feel free to message me:)

Your sincerely

Sandeep

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you describe four years of teaching experience and online tutoring, offer to provide lessons and materials, and explain that you want extra income and a connection to your cultural roots. These details make your application relevant and your suitability reasonably clear. However, some points are not fully developed or are unclear. For example, “It hard to do offline classes” does not explain why online teaching would suit this family, and the offer to help the family beyond teaching is limited to providing materials and arranging lesson times. Develop this by mentioning practical support you could offer, such as helping the children practise your language during everyday activities, and explain more specifically how your experience would benefit them.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: you introduce your application, explain your teaching background, describe your proposed lessons, and give your reasons for applying. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these main points, and connectors such as “Moreover” show a relationship between ideas. Some links are mechanical or unclear, however. “And also” repeats the preceding connection, while “Overall” does not clearly summarise the evidence that comes before it. The transition from your teaching experience to “It hard to do offline classes” is also abrupt. Use more direct links between the ideas—for instance, explain how your online teaching experience makes you able to offer lessons remotely—and keep each paragraph focused on one purpose.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “teaching experience,” “dedicated,” “compassionate,” “provided material,” and “cultural roots.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main points of your application. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “lanaguage,” “teching,” “right fit of that job,” and “keep me busy.” These sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “a suitable candidate for the position,” “teaching materials,” and “stay occupied.” Proofread carefully for repeated spelling errors, and choose expressions that sound appropriate in a polite job application rather than conversational wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the main message is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence construction, verb forms, and agreement. For example, “I am writing to inform that I saw” needs an object after “inform,” and “a person who teach” requires a correctly formed verb. In “teaching my language help me,” the subject and verb do not agree; “please tell me what the time is suits” also combines incompatible structures. The closing “Your sincerely” is grammatically incorrect. Practise complete, well-formed clauses and check subject–verb agreement and question structures. More accurate control of these patterns would make the letter sound clearer and more professional.
