Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the main purpose by applying for the teaching role and explaining relevant qualifications: you say you are from Punjab, speak Punjabi, and have studied it at university. You also offer help with household tasks and cooking, which responds to what else you could do for the family. However, the third point—why you want the job—is not clearly explained; the letter focuses more on your suitability than your motivation. Some details, such as your address and business studies, do not strengthen the application, while your childcare experience could be linked more clearly to caring for the children. Develop your reasons for wanting to work with this family and make each point purposeful.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening application, a paragraph about your language and childcare qualifications, and a paragraph about household help. This makes the main information reasonably easy to locate. However, progression is sometimes mechanical: connectors such as “Moreover,” “However,” “Moving further,” and “Additionally” are used even when the relationship between ideas is not clear. For example, “However” does not introduce a contrast after the nationality detail. The final paragraph also moves quickly from cooking to a general claim about suitability. Use fewer, more precise linking expressions, and organise the letter around the three requested points so the ideas develop in a clearer sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the role, including “childcare diploma,” “household chores,” and the names of Punjabi dishes, which help communicate your experience and practical offer. There are also attempts at more formal application language, such as “apply for position” and “favourable response.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “proper nurture of your children,” “manage your household chores,” and “I am sure that my skills and my experience makes me a suitable.” These choices sometimes make the message less natural, even though the intended meaning is generally understandable. Aim for precise, conventional phrases and check spelling and capitalisation, particularly for “Punjabi” and “Punjab.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, for example the sentence beginning “As i mentioned above” and the explanation of your qualifications. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur across the response and sometimes make sentences awkward. Examples include the missing article in “apply for position,” “i also did MA,” and the agreement error in “my skills and my experience makes.” The sentence “Additionally, i will also helps you” combines an incorrect verb form with an unnecessary auxiliary. Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, including lowercase “i” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence.
