Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address all three requested points: you explain your teaching background, offer help with homework and outings, and give a reason for wanting the position. These ideas are relevant, and the reader can understand your basic suitability. However, several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, “I have also a teaching experiance” gives little detail about your experience, and the offer to teach online while the children are out is not clearly connected to how you would support the family. The reason that teaching is your job is also repeated rather than developed with a personal motivation. Add specific examples of your teaching experience and explain why living and working with this family appeals to you. A more appropriate greeting and closing would also make this a complete letter to a couple.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: each paragraph focuses on suitability, additional help, or reasons for applying, so the main points are easy to locate. Basic links such as “because,” “also,” and “The main reason” help connect ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, particularly through repeated use of “also,” and some references are unclear. In “if the childrens want's to go outside with family,” it is not clear whether you mean the children going out with you or with their parents. The final paragraph also repeats the claim that you are good at teaching without building on the earlier information. Use clearer links between ideas and develop each paragraph in a more deliberate sequence; include a suitable closing to complete the letter.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant words, including “advertisement,” “teaching,” “homework,” and “language,” which makes the general topic clear. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the letter less natural. Examples include “experiance,” “perfession,” “betterly,” “thinks,” and “habbits”; “teach your language” is also repeated rather than varied. Some errors may make the reader pause to interpret the message. Build a more accurate range for describing qualifications and family support, such as “classroom experience,” “support the children with their studies,” and “help them develop good habits.” Check spelling and choose natural word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons or conditions, as in “I am suitable for this job because…” and “if the childrens want's to go outside…”. This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the range is limited and errors occur throughout, sometimes making relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “I seen” instead of “I saw,” “I have also a teaching” instead of “I also have teaching,” and “because am a language teacher,” which is missing a subject. There are also problems with articles, verb forms, agreement, and sentence punctuation. Practise accurate past and present forms, complete clauses, and plural agreement. For example: “I have teaching experience, and I have taught children before.”
