Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address the three requested points: you explain your nursing background and childcare experience, list ways you could help at home, and give reasons for wanting the position. These details are relevant, but the letter is only partially developed. For example, the award from the city welfare department is mentioned without explaining what it involved, and your reasons focus mainly on enjoying childcare and gaining experience. The final sentence is cut off, so the letter does not end with a complete closing or a clear expression of interest. The response is also one word below the required minimum. Add specific evidence of your suitability, explain what you hope to contribute to the family, and finish the letter fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, with separate sections for your suitability, household help, and reasons for applying. This makes the main points identifiable. However, progression is uneven: the opening repeats itself in “I am writing a letter to you” and “I saw your advertisement,” while sentence fragments such as “Because I graduated as a nurse” interrupt the flow. The transition into your reasons is also awkward, and the final line ends abruptly at “I'm looking forw”. Use complete sentences, connect related details more smoothly, and include a proper concluding paragraph so the letter feels finished.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “suitable,” “background,” “award,” and “gardening.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings are inaccurate, which can make the letter less clear or natural. Examples include “job apportunity,” “good background on how to take good care,” and “youngster” for children in this context. Some expressions are also vague, such as “anything that are needed to fixed in the house.” Choose more precise phrases for your childcare experience and household skills, and check spelling carefully. More natural collocations would help you present your qualifications and motivation clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The letter relies mainly on simple sentence patterns, and errors occur frequently enough to make some parts difficult to follow. For instance, “I believe that I'm suitable with that position. Because I graduated as a nurse” separates a dependent clause from its main clause, while “I know also how to cooked” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with agreement and sentence construction in “anything that are needed to fixed in the house.” Punctuation is inconsistent, including unnecessary full stops and capitalisation in “The reason, Why I like the job.Is”. Practise joining clauses correctly, using infinitives after “how to,” and checking agreement and punctuation.
