Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You address all three requested points: you explain your teaching background and suitability, offer help with learning materials and Filipino cooking, and give personal reasons for wanting the position. The details about your education and proposed activities make the application relevant and give it a clear purpose. Your reasons for applying are also stated, although the benefit of improving your English is more prominent than what you would contribute to the family over the year. To strengthen the response further, develop how your teaching experience would help these particular children, and make the family-focused benefits as specific as your personal motivation. Overall, the letter covers the task clearly and supports its main points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall structure: you introduce your application, describe your qualifications and possible contributions, explain your motivation, and close politely. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and transitions such as “Apart from teaching” and “In addition” show how the ideas relate. This coherent arrangement meets the lower-band expectations and shows some flexibility in linking points. However, a few connections are awkward or mechanical: “Which i saw in the advertisement” is detached from the opening sentence, and “Such as game, storytelling…” is presented as a fragment after the preceding sentence. Link these examples directly to the sentence they explain, and use references and transitions more naturally to make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to explain the role, including “bachelor of education,” “everyday conversation,” “storytelling,” and “traditional dishes.” These choices help communicate your qualifications and the activities you could offer. However, the range is limited in places, and noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “cultiure,” “vocabolary,” “mermorization,” and “consedering” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “express my interest for applying” and “share them the our language.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main message, but they make the letter less fluent. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural collocations for applications, teaching, and cultural exchange.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can generally understand your message. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect fluency. For example, “I am graduated from Bicol University” uses an incorrect verb form, while “Which i saw in the advertisement” is an incomplete sentence. In “I believe that i am suitable… because i am native filipino speaker,” the sentence needs correct capitalisation and an article before “native Filipino speaker.” There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary problems, as in “Such as game, storytelling…” and “I am a patient, friendly…”. Practise complete sentence structures, articles, verb forms, and punctuation, then proofread for capital letters and spacing.
