Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You make a relevant attempt to explain your suitability, mentioning a master’s degree in Persian, and you give a reason for applying: you are seeking a teaching position after your exams. However, the task is only partially addressed. The offer to teach Persian is clear, but the claim that you could teach “other languages” and traditions is vague, and you do not explain what practical help you could provide for the family beyond teaching. Your reasons for wanting this particular job are also limited and partly unclear; “a better start for me” does not explain your interest in the children or the family. Develop each bullet point with specific, relevant details, such as childcare, cooking, or sharing cultural activities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable opening, body, and closing, and the ideas are broadly grouped: your qualifications appear first, followed by your availability and motivation. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, the progression within the body is difficult to follow, especially in the long paragraph beginning “Therefore,” where availability, career plans, and the children’s course are combined. Linking words such as “Actually,” “Therefore,” and “meanwhile” do not always show the relationships between ideas clearly. Use separate paragraphs for suitability, additional help and motivation, and connect each point directly to the one before it. Clearer sentence boundaries and references would make the letter easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “master degree,” “teaching position,” “traditions,” and “qualification,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make parts of the letter difficult to understand. Examples include “tuter,” “parsion,” “tradtions,” and “opportunty”; “personal trainer” is also not the appropriate term for someone teaching a language. Some phrases, such as “enhance my skills with ability,” are unclear or unnatural. Check spelling carefully and choose precise expressions for the role and your experience. More natural collocations, such as “language tutor” and “share Persian culture,” would improve clarity and suitability for a formal letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, but the longer sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors sometimes obscure your meaning. For example, “I hope your doing well” needs the possessive form “you’re,” while “I am exciting to write” uses the wrong verb form. In “I have time to teach you are kids,” the pronoun is incorrect, and the sentence beginning “as my final exam conducted last week” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and several ideas joined in one sentence. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences with clear clauses and correct verb forms.
