Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain your Urdu proficiency and teaching experience, offer to help the parents with language-related difficulties, and give reasons for wanting the position. The claim that you have taught children before is particularly relevant, while your interest in languages also supports your application. However, some points are not fully developed: explain more specifically how your experience would help these particular children learn, and clarify what practical help you could offer the family beyond teaching Urdu. Your reason that you are currently free because of a semester break is clear, but could be balanced with a more lasting motivation. The letter is relevant overall, though a few details remain general.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall sequence: you introduce your interest, describe your qualifications, explain what you could offer the family, and give your reasons for applying. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points, and phrases such as “Also” and “because” make some relationships between ideas clear. At times, however, the linking is mechanical or the references are difficult to follow. For example, “The Advantage of hiring me for this purpose would be beneficial” repeats the same idea, and the long sentence beginning “I can also help you” combines several points without a clear progression. Organise each paragraph around one main purpose and use clearer transitions and references to make the letter flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “proficiency,” “human resources department,” and “semester gap,” and the reader can understand your main message. There are also attempts to use more expressive language, such as “baba e Urdu,” though this may not be familiar to the Australian couple and would benefit from a brief explanation. Several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or too informal for an application letter: “good but best,” “you guy's,” and “I love to this job” do not sound natural in context. Some forms, including “childrens,” also show limited control of word formation. Choose precise, conventional expressions and maintain a polite, professional tone throughout.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including structures with “not only…but also” and clauses introduced by “because.” These help you communicate several relevant ideas, and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “Dear Mr and Mrs.” is an incomplete form of address, “People in my university call me as…” uses an incorrect pattern, and “the problems that occurs” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “The Advantage of hiring me” is also difficult to control because its structure is repetitive. Practise accurate sentence patterns and check agreement and punctuation, especially in longer sentences.
