Dear .................. ,
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear sir,
I am writing this letter to inform you that i am interested for this job as i am qulified in language and, working as teacher in NSN school. I just want to request to consider this letter as an application.
Coming to the point, i have completed M.S.c in language and, gaining more experience as a teacher in the field. Apart from this, I worked as a babysitter before nine months so that i believe that makes a strong background for this job. Furthermore, i can understand that learning own language is an important thing for understanding other's opinion. As a teacher, i would defienetly recommed to teach our own language.
Adding to this, i can cook and prepare proper meal for your children. After this, i would clean up whole kitchen. I promise that i would be availabe for long time untill next 2 years. This is not only reason to get this job, but also getting more experience with children that helps me to get certification of child care. I hope you understand my concern.
Best Regards,
Jiya Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three requested points: you describe your language qualification and teaching work, offer cooking and kitchen cleaning, and explain that you want experience with children and a childcare certificate. These details make the letter relevant. However, some points are only briefly stated: for example, you do not explain how your teaching experience would help these particular children learn, and your reasons for wanting the job are mainly personal rather than connected to the family’s needs. The offer to stay “until next 2 years” is also unclear in relation to the advertised one-year role. Develop each point more specifically and make your suitability and motivation clearer to the couple.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a generally clear sequence: you introduce your application, describe your qualifications, then mention other help and your reasons for applying. Paragraphing supports this overall arrangement, and phrases such as “Apart from this” and “Furthermore” signal additions. However, several transitions sound mechanical, including “Coming to the point” and “Adding to this,” and the ideas within the second paragraph move quickly from teaching to the value of learning a language without a clear link. The closing is also abrupt. Use fewer formulaic connectors and make the relationship between each idea explicit; for instance, connect your babysitting experience directly to caring for the couple’s children.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the role, including “qualified,” “babysitter,” “experience,” and “certification,” so the main message can be understood. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “interested for this job,” “gaining more experience,” and “understanding other's opinion.” Spelling errors such as “qulified,” “defienetly,” “recommed,” and “availabe” also make the writing less polished. Aim for precise, natural phrases suited to a formal application, and check spelling carefully. More specific vocabulary about language teaching and childcare would help you explain your suitability with greater clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using clauses introduced by “as,” “so that,” and “that,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the longer structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “I am interested for this job as i am qulified” has problems with the preposition, capitalization, and sentence construction; “I worked as a babysitter before nine months so that i believe” combines ideas incorrectly; and “This is not only reason … but also getting” is not a parallel construction. Review articles, prepositions, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, and practise building accurate complex sentences before adding more clauses.
