Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address the main purpose by explaining that you teach English part-time, have teaching experience, live close to the family, and are available for the year. You also give a personal reason for applying: needing to help pay your brother’s college fees. However, the task asks what else you could do for the family, and this is not answered; saying you would travel to their home and return afterwards does not describe an additional service. The letter also gives little detail about how your experience would benefit the children. To make the response more complete, add a specific offer, such as helping with homework or introducing the children to your culture, and explain your teaching suitability more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The reader can identify the main points—your teaching background, proximity to the home, availability, and financial motivation—but they are crowded into one long paragraph and one extended sentence. This makes the ideas difficult to follow and obscures the relationship between them. The repeated use of “and” does not provide clear progression, while “if you give me this job and I will come” creates an unclear connection between the condition and its result. Organise the letter into short paragraphs, for example, one for your suitability and availability, one for what else you can offer, and one for your reasons. Use clear linking phrases such as “In addition” and “I am applying because” to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “part time teacher,” “teaching experience,” and “available for one year,” so your main message is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make the letter less clear or less appropriate in tone. Examples include “advertiment,” “experince,” and “collage fee”; “sir/mam” is also not a natural formal greeting. Try to use more precise expressions for the job and your contribution, such as “language tutor,” “classroom experience,” and “support the children with their studies.” Check spelling carefully and choose vocabulary that suits a polite letter to prospective employers.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect several ideas, but it relies heavily on a single run-on sentence, so grammatical relationships are often unclear. There are errors in verb forms and sentence construction, as in “I hope your doing well i see your advertiment,” and the conditional clause “if you give me this job and i will come” is not formed correctly. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, making sentence boundaries difficult to identify. Use a mix of short, complete sentences and a few controlled complex structures: for example, “I am available for the full year, and I live only a two-minute drive away.” Proofread for subject–verb forms, sentence boundaries, and appropriate punctuation.
