Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify the advertised role and give relevant reasons for your suitability, including four years of teaching experience and your former professorship at Punjab University of Patiala. You also explain that you want to stay busy and learn about another culture. However, the task is only partially addressed: you do not explain what else you could do for the family, such as helping the children with homework or introducing them to Punjabi customs. Your reasons for wanting the job are brief, and the letter ends without a clear offer to discuss your application. The response is also 10 words below the required minimum. Develop each bullet point with specific details to make the letter more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The ideas are generally understandable and follow a basic sequence: you refer to the advertisement, describe your qualifications, explain your motivation, and close the letter. This gives the response some organisation. However, nearly all the information is placed in one long paragraph, so the different purposes of the letter are not clearly separated. The repeated use of “I” and the movement from qualifications to cultural knowledge and then motivation feel somewhat abrupt. Use separate paragraphs for your suitability, additional help for the family, and reasons for applying. A few simple links, such as “In addition” or “I am also interested in this role because…”, would make the progression clearer without making the letter sound mechanical.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “advertisement,” “experience,” “professor,” “culture,” and “consideration.” Phrases such as “connect with the roots of your culture” show an attempt to express a more specific idea. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word choices are noticeable, for example “writting,” “chidren,” “depth knowled,” and “retaired.” Some expressions, including “teach Punjabi in easy way,” could be more natural and precise. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main message, but they limit the accuracy and range of your vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for describing teaching experience and cultural knowledge.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You communicate your main points using both simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason clause with “as” and a relative clause in “a teacher who can teach Punjabi.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning remains understandable. However, sentence boundaries and punctuation need more control: the opening sentence joins several ideas with commas, creating a run-on structure. There are also errors in capitalisation and grammatical forms, such as beginning “i” in lowercase and writing “i have 4 year experience” rather than using a correctly formed noun phrase. Break long sentences into shorter units, use full stops consistently, and check articles, plurals, and verb forms when editing.
