Dear .................. ,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear lovepreet,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to express my interest and capabilities in teaching language skills to children. I have completed a 6-month communication skills course, and I am multilingual teacher in terms of English, Hindi, Punjabi, and French. I think that I am a good fit for your available position.
I have read about the other duties alongside teaching languages, and the family you mentioned is a business couple. Their children need to work on their fine motor and gross motor skills as well. I will be glad if that couple wants me to work their milestones because I have done early childhood education program of 3 years. Moreover, I have 2 years of experience, and this position will work best for me.
I am already looking for the job that could help me to sharp my both skills in a long run. As per my education and experience, the salary in my current workplace was not enough. The workload was too high compared to my pay rate, but your current empty position meets all my expectations.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. I will wait for your response.
Best regards,
Anu

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain your language-teaching background, offer help with the children’s development, and give reasons for wanting the position. The details about speaking four languages and completing early-childhood education are relevant and help establish suitability. However, some points are not fully clear or developed. For example, “work their milestones” does not explain what practical support you would provide, and the reasons for wanting the job focus mainly on dissatisfaction with your current salary and workload. Explain more positively what attracts you to teaching the children and living or working with the family. This would make the purpose of the letter more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening statement, paragraphs about your qualifications and additional help, reasons for applying, and a polite closing. This makes the main information easy to locate. You also use linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “but” to connect ideas. At times, however, the progression is less smooth because several points are compressed together. The sentence about the couple being business people and the children’s motor skills, for instance, does not clearly explain how these details relate to your offer. Some references, such as “that couple” and “this position,” could be more direct. Organising each paragraph around one clear purpose and making links between ideas more explicit would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the letter, including relevant terms such as “multilingual,” “fine motor and gross motor skills,” “early childhood education,” and “experience.” These choices communicate your qualifications and possible contribution. You also attempt more specific expressions, but some are inaccurate or unnatural, including “sharp my both skills,” “work their milestones,” and “empty position.” “Capabilities” is understandable, though “qualifications” or “suitability” would be more natural in this context. These word-choice and collocation issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main message, but they reduce precision. Aim to learn common phrases for describing professional skills, childcare duties, and reasons for applying.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including “I think that I am a good fit” and the sentence beginning “As per my education and experience.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “I am multilingual teacher” needs an article (“a multilingual teacher”), and “I will be glad if that couple wants me to work their milestones” has an incomplete grammatical pattern; you could write, “I would be glad to support the children’s development.” In “I have done early childhood education program of 3 years,” the article and phrasing need attention. Review articles, verb patterns, and sentence construction, while keeping the useful variety of structures you already attempt.
