Dear .................. ,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to apply for the position to teach two children my language for a year. I am very delighted to have this opportunity.
I would be perfect person to fit in this job as I already have two years experience of kindergarder. I know how to handle the children and teach them second language including fun activities. Which will make the language learning easy and interesting.
Along with teaching children, I can help the family by doing some light house chores such as maintaining the house by clearning the area and putting the things on their right place.
I am intrested in this job because I love to teach children. I have calm and helpful nature. Along with this, I know how to handle the situation in the polite and careful manner. Moreover, I have keen interest to explore new locations and want to know about the history of the places.
Thank you for your time, I will wait for the follow up.
Yours sincerely,
Abc

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you explain your childcare experience, offer help with household chores, and give reasons for wanting the position. The letter is relevant and your suitability is supported by your two years of kindergarten experience and your ability to use activities when teaching. This meets the task well, while the detail is uneven: the offer to help with chores is specific, but your reasons for wanting the job are less fully connected to this particular family and year-long role. For example, your interest in exploring locations and their history could be linked more clearly to living in Australia. To strengthen the response further, explain how your experience would benefit these children and add a little more detail about what you hope to gain from the position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear overall progression: you introduce your application, discuss your suitability, offer additional help, and explain your motivation before closing. Separate paragraphs make the main points easy to locate, and linking expressions such as “Along with” and “Moreover” help connect ideas. The organisation is effective, though some links feel formulaic, and the sentence beginning “Which will make the language learning easy and interesting” is detached from the idea before it. Connect it to the previous sentence to maintain a smoother flow. The closing sentence also combines thanks and a follow-up expectation abruptly. More natural transitions and clearer links between related ideas would make the progression feel more consistently fluent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main points, with relevant expressions such as “light house chores,” “fun activities,” and “keen interest.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision and make some phrases less natural, including “kindergarder,” “clearning,” and “intrested.” There are also awkward collocations, such as “fit in this job” and “putting the things on their right place.” The range is somewhat repetitive, particularly around teaching and handling children, and some descriptions remain general. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships for applications and childcare. More precise phrasing would help you express your experience and the help you can offer with greater confidence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple sentences and some longer structures, including “I am interested in this job because I love to teach children” and the sentence beginning “Moreover.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors persist. For example, “I would be perfect person” needs an article, and “two years experience” needs a possessive form or a different construction. “Which will make the language learning easy and interesting” is a sentence fragment; attach it to the preceding sentence. The final line, “Thank you for your time, I will wait for the follow up,” also joins two independent clauses with only a comma. Practise articles, possessives, and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at longer structures.
