Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the question by presenting mobile payments as beneficial overall and mentioning drawbacks such as internet or signal problems, password loss, and limited access to payment machines among street vendors. However, your position is not consistently clear: the opening repeats the question rather than stating your view, and the conclusion says people can “having both” without clearly weighing the advantages against the disadvantages. The benefits of saving time and avoiding queues are relevant, but they are repeated more than developed, and the risks are listed with little explanation. To strengthen the response, state directly that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, then explain and support each main point with a specific example, such as a bill payment completed through an app and a situation where connectivity prevents payment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation: the response moves from convenience to drawbacks and ends with a conclusion, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Secondly,” and “To sum up” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded into one long paragraph, and the first section shifts between saving time, queues, frustration, and personal advice without clear links. “Secondly” introduces cash delivery, but this point is not explained or connected to the main argument. Some linking phrases are repetitive or do not clarify the relationship between ideas. Use separate paragraphs for your position and advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion; keep each paragraph focused on one main idea and connect examples directly to it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “utility bills,” “online shopping,” “signal problem,” and “password,” so the reader can identify the subject and several key points. However, the range is limited and many expressions are repeated, especially references to saving time and doing work through apps. Frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word combinations sometimes make the message harder to understand, as in “developing common,” “huge rush of people,” and “cash delivery having a risk.” Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, describe “long queues” and “payment security risks,” and use “mobile payments” consistently rather than repeatedly referring to “doing our work” on apps.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “This is because” and “Furthermore,” but the response relies heavily on basic structures, and many longer sentences are difficult to follow. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur throughout: “This development have,” “we can done,” and “people can having” do not form accurate clauses. Articles and sentence boundaries are also often missing or misplaced, particularly in the opening and the extended sentence about people waiting to pay bills. These problems can make the intended meaning unclear. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one clear subordinate clause. Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms after modal verbs (“can pay”), and punctuation to prevent run-on sentences.
