Student answer (Band 6.5)

Nowadays, It is common to see that many people use their mobile phones to pay for the purchases. I believe that this development has advantages because people have no need to carry their wallets and as well it saves their time too.

Firstly, in this modern era, people find it more convienient to use smartphones to pay their bills. The reason is that sometime people forget their wallets, cash and cards at home, So it it is easy for them to use them to use apple pay. The another reason is that sometime people don't have enough time to go to ATM to withdraw the cash. For example, many people who lives in abroad prefer to Interac to pay for their things rather than carrying the wallets as they find it quick and easy method. Therefore, it is reliable method for everyone and better for country growth.

The another reason behind this is that people do not have to wait for longer in the lines. This is because, If people are paying by cash, cashier have to counts the money and also have to give them exchanges. It took so long to cash outs the money. It is better to use the cellphones to pay for the bills along with that you also have the record when you pay and where. For example, one of my friends usually pay from mobiles and always saved the history, she found this method really help in saving money too. When we carried a cash, people forget after a day where they use. Therefore, it best way for people to save their money as well for future development too.

In conclusion, Using Mobile phones to pay for our things not save our time but also a reliable method for everyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages of mobile payments, such as convenience and expense tracking. However, the task asks whether there are more advantages or disadvantages. While you clearly favor the advantages, the response lacks a balanced view or a deeper exploration of potential disadvantages (such as security risks or technical failures), which limits the development of the argument. The ideas are relevant but remain somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, ensure you address the 'more' aspect of the prompt by acknowledging the other side or providing more nuanced support for your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'The another reason', and 'In conclusion'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'The another reason' (which should be 'Another reason') and 'along with that'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the friend's experience and the broader argument about 'future development' is somewhat tenuous. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'withdraw', 'cashier', and 'history'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'lives in abroad' (should be 'live abroad'), 'give them exchanges' (should be 'give them change'), and 'cash outs the money'. The range is sufficient to communicate, but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on accurate collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will help improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('cashier have to counts'), article misuse ('the cash'), and awkward phrasing ('It took so long to cash outs the money'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and capitalization errors (e.g., 'Nowadays, It is...'). These errors do not prevent understanding, but they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 5.5–6.0 range. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage.
