Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of mobile payment apps. The position is clear, although the conclusion is somewhat underdeveloped. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of not carrying cash and the risks of cybercrime. However, some points, particularly the mention of older people, are left as an incomplete sentence, which limits the development of that specific argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that every point introduced is fully explained with a complete sentence structure and a clear link back to the main argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the darker side', and 'Furthermore' are used to signal the progression of ideas. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by grammatical errors and incomplete sentences, such as the break in the paragraph regarding older people. Referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the final point about server issues and the conclusion feels abrupt. Improving the consistency of these transitions and ensuring all sentences are complete would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'biometric authentication', 'cybercrime', and 'transaction methods'. However, there are several word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'loosing' instead of 'losing', 'convinient' instead of 'convenient', and 'icons' instead of 'cons'. These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise vocabulary to move into the higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Some people says', 'it reduce') and missing articles or prepositions ('at the days end', 'due the collection'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. The sentence fragment 'older people find difficulties in Using online transaction methods fast but not least' significantly impacts the grammatical flow. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct syntax.
