Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that acknowledges both advantages and disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of cashback rewards and security risks like hacking. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about the 'sixty percent of businessmen' lacks context, and the argument regarding the 'specific segment of population' is slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explained with more detailed reasoning or specific, well-integrated examples rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as 'The one of the most prominent benefit' and 'Another is, by using smartphones.' Improving the variety of cohesive links and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall flow and logical progression of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'lucrative,' 'empirical,' and 'prevalent.' However, there are also some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'not losing belonging' instead of 'not losing belongings' and 'leverage of use' instead of 'convenience.' While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach the higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('The one of the most prominent benefit'), subject-verb agreement ('usage of application are'), and pluralization ('drawback' instead of 'drawbacks'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the message. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically regarding articles and noun-verb agreement, and try to incorporate more complex structures with greater precision.
