Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to address the specific prompt, which asks about paying for things using mobile apps. Instead, the essay discusses mobile phones and AI in general terms, focusing on education and skill development. While the prompt is partially addressed in terms of the 'advantages and disadvantages' structure, the core topic is missed entirely. The position is not clearly stated, and the ideas are under-developed and lack relevant examples related to mobile payments. To improve, you must carefully read the prompt to ensure your content directly answers the specific question asked rather than writing a general essay about the technology itself.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks logical progression. While there are some attempts at paragraphing, the ideas within the paragraphs are disjointed and often repetitive. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'moreover' and 'mobile phones'. The lack of clear topic sentences makes it difficult to follow the argument. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea that connects back to the main thesis.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'mobile phone', 'advantages', and 'disadvantages'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'every person have use cell phone' and 'unbeneficial things'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the lack of variety hinders the overall quality of the writing. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to technology and finance, and focus on learning common collocations to make your writing sound more natural and academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every person have use'), sentence structure (run-on sentences), and punctuation. The writing relies almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, with very few attempts at complex sentences. When complex structures are attempted, they are often grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and punctuation, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for basic errors like missing articles and incorrect plurals will also help significantly.
