Student answer (Band 5.5)

In developed countries, paying for apps and others things is becoming rapidly eye catching. It has both pros and cons and in the upcoming paragraph i will discuss both and i will go with the one.

Using different kinds of apps in the smartphone increasingly day by day. Because in this modern earn without mobile phone we are nothing and it has some advantages that we are paying for things because not everyone has excess for the things. For example, if a person want to clear their interview so he can learn English with the help of simple apps like google to search or learn anything but if the person is paying to another app like taking by ai its the name of app so that person can talk to ai in English and learn if he speak something wrong then that ai will tell that person that you have to say that.

On the other hand, it has some disadvantages as well like it create the discrimination between rich and poor people its like the person who is rich has more opportunities then the person who do not earn enou Money for instance, if two person are applying for same position once has apps that app help to know what kind of question might ask in interview but another person who is not able to pay for that he might not pass that interview.

To conclude it, i would say it has more disadvantages because the poor people not able to learn more things because they don’t have money as they are not able to learn or know new things.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of mobile payment apps. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. The argument regarding 'discrimination' is relevant but lacks depth, and the example provided is slightly confusing. The position is stated in the introduction, but the supporting arguments are not fully extended or clearly linked to the broader implications of mobile payment technology. To improve, you should focus on providing more specific, logical examples and ensuring that each paragraph clearly contributes to your overall stance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the flow of ideas is often disjointed due to the limited use of cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences are frequently missing or awkward, such as the abrupt shift in the second paragraph. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logic. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'eye catching' to describe a trend and 'excess for the things' instead of 'access to'. The phrasing is often simplistic, which restricts your ability to convey complex ideas effectively. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to technology and finance, and practice using these words in their correct context. Avoid overusing basic words like 'things' or 'apps' and try to vary your language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'two person are applying'), sentence fragments, and incorrect verb tenses. Many sentences are structurally simple, and attempts at more complex structures often result in errors that can impede the reader's understanding. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalisation. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and article usage.
