Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, technology has become increase day by day, so everyone likes to use online payment method rather than using cash and it is becoming increasingly common. I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using cellphone for payment in upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, there are numerous benefits of using mobile phones for paying for things. Foremost, it is easy to use, people pay for everything with single click. For example, now smartphones have tap to pay option way individuals just tap their phones and payment is done. Secondly, people do not need to carry a lot of cash with them everywhere as well as it is also helpful to decrease the chance of thief, so people feel save when they use online payment method.
On the other hand, using cellphones for paying for things also have some demerits. Firstly, there are many individuals who do not know much about new technology, so they feel hesitate to use it. For instance, older people who do not know how to use online payment methods, so they always like to use cash to pay. Apart from this, sometime people get scam due to online payment. Moreover, sometime online payment methods are not working properly, so people feel embarrassed in front of others.
In conclusion, no doubt online payment becoming increasingly common nowadays and number of people like to use it because it is easy and less stressful, but I think people also need to carry some cash for emergency because sometime online payment is not working, so they need to use cash to not feel embarrassed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages. The position is clear, although the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, the point about 'older people' is a relevant example, but the argument could be extended further to reach a higher band. The conclusion provides a summary, but it lacks a strong, nuanced final thought. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by more detailed explanation or a more specific, real-world example rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a specific focus. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Secondly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better sentence-to-sentence transitions to create a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choice, such as 'technology has become increase day by day' (should be 'is increasing') and 'decrease the chance of thief' (should be 'theft'). The student relies on common, simple vocabulary. To achieve a higher score, the student should incorporate more precise, topic-specific collocations and avoid repetitive structures, aiming for a more sophisticated and varied lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'people pay for everything with single click' (missing article), 'they feel hesitate' (should be 'hesitant'), and 'sometime people get scam' (should be 'scammed'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammar and punctuation, as well as attempting more complex sentence forms with greater control, is essential for improvement.
