Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, but it fails to reach the minimum word count of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. The conclusion is incomplete, and the argument lacks depth. While the position is generally clear, the under-length nature of the essay means that the discussion of the advantages and disadvantages is not fully extended or supported. To improve, ensure that each point is elaborated with specific examples and that the essay meets the required length to allow for a comprehensive exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. Paragraphing is present but the final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the flow. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Although', 'Thus', and 'additionally', but they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the disadvantages and advantages is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would greatly enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and there are frequent spelling errors, such as 'opprtunity', 'essensial', 'teconology', and 'installement'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the repetitive nature of the word choices (e.g., 'work', 'people') hinder the quality of the response. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To achieve a higher band, focus on expanding your vocabulary related to technology and finance, and pay closer attention to spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'Technology... assist' and 'many glitches has been observed', as well as awkward phrasing such as 'stressed free from these all things'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for basic sentence construction errors.
