Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of mobile payment apps. You clearly state your position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about environmental benefits is mentioned but not fully explained, and the discussion on cybersecurity, while relevant, could be more deeply explored to reach a higher band. The ideas are relevant, but the support provided is occasionally brief. To improve, ensure that each main point is supported by a clear explanation or a more detailed example to demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use some cohesive devices such as 'The first and foremost', 'In addition to it', and 'In Conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'Apart from it' and 'Due to the access of more technology'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'However, there are numerous benefits of it', where the pronoun 'it' does not clearly refer back to a specific noun. Improving the variety and natural flow of your linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'finances', 'authentication', and 'cybersecurity'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'saves environment' (should be 'protects the environment'), 'too expert to collect' (should be 'skilled enough to steal'), and 'consists a consumers information' (should be 'contains consumer information'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit your score. To reach a higher band, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise terminology to express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the environment', 'the time'), prepositions ('in all over the world'), and subject-verb agreement ('every application consists a consumers information'). Some sentences are also slightly fragmented or awkward, such as 'As it could put their life at risk due to the fear of robbery.' Despite these errors, the meaning is generally clear throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically regarding article usage and sentence boundaries.
