Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is an undeniable fact that technology is growing faster than before. In many countries, people prefer to do online banking. Money exchange has became more easier and secure. In my opinion, it is a positive development and it has many advantageous.

To begin with, money in hand has became an unnecessary factor. To buy and sell things, we can transfer cash from bank account directly through mobile phone apps. For instance, mobile apps like, phonepay, tapme, are really helpful in doing online merchandise and sending money online without any delay in payment. This practice ensures complete safety for your money. No need to worry about pick-pocketers, or losing wallets, because, we do not have to carry cash with us all the time. Whenever we wish to buy or sell a thing we can easily do it by scanning the QR code using the app, and safely transfer the money. This clearly shows why paying for things using online transfer has increased in many countries.

Another thing is, we can calculate and sort out our monthly expenditure easily. On the app, we can see our spendings, and figure out what changes we should bring to save more money. Moreover, it a proof which it act same as a bill. If there is any misunderstanding in the payment we can double check it any time in the app. Any age group of people can use this method and is very comfortable to handle.

So, in my opinion, it is a positive approach. In future, many updations will be there.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages of mobile payment apps. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention safety and expenditure tracking, the discussion lacks depth and could be extended with more nuanced analysis. The position is clear throughout, but the task requires a balanced view or a more thorough exploration of the 'disadvantages' to fully address the 'more advantages or more disadvantages' aspect of the prompt. You have provided relevant examples, such as QR codes and expenditure tracking, which support your main points effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'For instance', and 'Moreover' are used to link ideas. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the sentence 'Moreover, it a proof which it act same as a bill'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'online banking', 'expenditure', and 'merchandise'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'money exchange has became more easier' (should be 'easier') and 'many updations' (a non-standard term). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on collocations and avoid inventing words or using informal phrasing in an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Examples include 'money in hand has became' (should be 'has become'), 'it a proof which it act' (should be 'it is proof that acts'), and 'is very comfortable to handle' (referring to the method rather than the user). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors in basic verb tenses and sentence construction prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and correct auxiliary verb usage.
