Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, but the development is significantly hindered by the inclusion of a bulleted list at the beginning. This list essentially repeats the content of the essay, which is an inappropriate format for an IELTS Task 2 response. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped. You mention convenience and security but fail to provide specific, well-supported examples. To improve, you must integrate your points into cohesive paragraphs and expand on your arguments with detailed explanations rather than listing ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a logical structure due to the initial bulleted list, which disrupts the flow of the argument. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the transition between the introduction and the body is weak. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with' and 'To explain this', but they are often used mechanically or incorrectly. The progression of ideas is disjointed, and the lack of a clear conclusion further impacts the coherence of the response. You should focus on using linking words to connect sentences and ideas more naturally within well-structured paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. You use words like 'easy', 'convenient', and 'payment' multiple times. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'changed the million's of life' (should be 'millions of lives') and 'this created a massacre' (which is an inappropriate and inaccurate use of the word). To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common items and more precise collocations related to technology and finance, while ensuring they are used accurately in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'No more carry hard cash' (should be 'No need to carry'), 'If mobile get lost' (should be 'If a mobile gets lost'), and 'There many spams are going through' (should be 'There is a lot of spam'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
