Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages of mobile payment systems, but it fails to provide a balanced view or a clear counter-argument, which is expected for a 'more advantages or disadvantages' task. The ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the development of the argument. To improve, you should ensure you explore both sides of the issue or provide a more comprehensive justification for your chosen position, and ensure you meet the minimum word count requirement to allow for full development of your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'this merits means' or 'this way of paying is one of the newest method'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of sophisticated linking words. While the paragraphing is sufficient, the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs to be improved by using a wider variety of transition signals and ensuring that referencing is clear and grammatically correct.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'do not need to' and 'this way' are used frequently. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'laying on your coach' (should be 'lying on your couch') and 'keep stick with you'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise and varied vocabulary related to technology and finance, and pay closer attention to common collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'people use their mobile phones applications for purchase their needs' (should be 'to purchase their needs') and 'this is has an advantages development' (should be 'this is an advantageous development'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence structure and proofreading for common errors would be beneficial.
